MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
HELD ON 6TH MARCH 2009 AT 7 PM AT THE
ALDWICK PARISH COUNCIL OFFICES, PRYORS LANE
Present: Brian Pinchen, Anne Bass, Christine Mitchell,
Tina Mitchell, Phillip Conroy, Allison Honeywood,
Ruth Partridge,
John Bass (Liaison), Dave Mitchell (Publicity)
1. Apologies for absence: David Betts-Bucke,
Helena Pernas, Tony Edwards.
2. John introduced the Committee and outlined the reasons
for starting the Residents Association last year.
He stated the legal reasons why we have to hold an AGM.
The Committee was thanked for its work so far.
3. The Chairman, Brian, then outlined the position of
the Association and his role and referred all members
to our Constitution.
4. The Secretary, Anne, then outlined her duties within
the Association and the contacts she has made to
various councils, Nick Gibb, our MP, her dealings with
Places for People and the Land Registry.
5. The Treasurer, Chris, gave a full account of the
financial status of the Association including how
money has been raised and distributed so far.
6. Land Registry. Ruth, who has now taken over this
responsibility spoke about her role and how we are
progressing with the Land Registry for this estate
and the update on the allotments.
7. All Committee members then stood down for
election/re-election of the Committee.
8. Election of Chairman. Brian was re-elected unopposed.
9. Election of Secretary. Anne was re-elected unopposed.
10. Election of Treasurer. Chris was re-elected unopposed.
11. Dave Betts-Bucke and Helena Pernas opted not
to stand this year, due to personal reasons.
Dave Mitchell, (Publicity) and John Bass (Liaison)
were voted on to the full committee.
David Greene was nominated to join the committee
and this was approved unanimously.
12. Co-option of members. We have the right to co-opt
members as required during this coming year.

13. Plans for the coming year.
Membership Fees for October 2009 to September 2010.
These were discussed by all members and voting took
place on the dues to be charged for the year. It was
decided by members that the annual cost for under 80’s
will be raised to £3.00 per member and left at £1.00
for the over 80’s per member.
This was agreed by all members present at the AGM.
John outlined plans regarding Places for People and the
infill of the estate.
We are now selling raffle tickets for our Easter Egg
Raffle and Committee members will be calling on our
members, hopefully, for all to buy tickets -
this is for our Fighting Fund.
Thank you for those who have already purchased
raffle tickets. £1.00 per strip.
The more that enter the raffle the more money we can
generate for our fund. Thank you.
We have booked the Community Hall for our Spring Fayre
- 16th May 2009 from 1-4pm.
We have also booked the Community Hall for our
Christmas Fayre (like last year) to be held on the
21st November 2009.
PLEASE PUT THESE DATES IN YOUR DIARY.
There will be no entrance fee at our Fayres but a
donation bucket will be placed at the door.
We will be having a stall on 22nd August 2009 at
Avisford Park in the afternoon at the Aldwick Parish
Council Fete. More details later.
We talked about holding coffee mornings but it was
suggested that instead of coffee mornings we hold
afternoon tea sessions. We will try and arrange
these in the future. More details to follow.
14. Any Other Business.
The price of garage rents and maintenance costs
were discussed. We will notify Places for People
how our members feel about these increases.
REMINDER: The photo shoot for the local paper with
Nick Gibb, MP will take place this Saturday 14th March
2009 at 1pm at the garage compound by Nyetimber
Lane and Willowhale Cottage
(nearest block to the site office).
Please come and show your support for this Association.
For those who have not returned the Objection Forms,
PLEASE can you do this as soon as possible as we are
collecting them now. Thank you for those who have
already returned these forms, we have over 100 back so far.
We require all forms back please.
15. Date of Next AGM. This will be held during March 2010.
