MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 23^rd JULY 2009

Present: Brian Pinchen, Anne Bass, Ruth Partridge, Allison Honeywood,
             Phillip Conroy, David Greene, John Bass.

　1. Apologies for absence: Christine Mitchell, Dave Mitchell, Tina Mitchell, Tony Edwards.

  2. To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting on 4th June 2009. 
      The minutes were proposed, approved and signed.

  3.  Matters arising from the Minutes.
       None

  4.   Secretary’s Report
        A letter has been received from David Hooper, Regional Manager of Places for People
        regarding the Willowhale Allotments. He has stated in his letter that “any plans for the
        estate will NOT include any development on the allotments as we will not, in light of your 
        comments at our meeting, be pursuing the possibility of building homes on that site.”

        We had a photo shoot with Nick Gibb, MP for the Observer recently to highlight the fact that
        we have won the battle for the allotments, but this is an ongoing situation regarding the
        rest of the estate. We have been talking to Nick Gibb in relation to making the allotments into 
        a trust run by our association (WFRA).

        Now our Association has won the fight to stop them building on the allotments, this is
        phase 1 only. There is still a long way to go in the fight to save the rest of our estate from the
        builders. (WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT ALL THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN - WE CAN SUCCEED
        IF WE ALL PULL TOGETHER).

 5.     Reports from Committee Members.
         John and Ruth are preparing information for a grant from local Councils.
         John is also updating the insurance cover.

 6. Chairman’s Report
     None.

 7. Any Other Business  Vice-Chairman
     Due to the amount of work done by the Committee we have voted Ruth Partridge 
     as our Vice-Chairman, who can attend functions on behalf of our association.
      This was nominated by John Bass and seconded by Brian Pinchen and agreed unanimously.

      A reminder: Aldwick Parish Council will be holding Aldwick Bumper Community Day on
      22^nd August 2009 at Avisford Park. We have booked a stall for this event. Let’s hope for a
      good turnout. Please visit our stand - the Committee members will be there for a chat.
     
       A banner with our address and logo on has been ordered for the stand.

 8.  The date of the next Committee Meeting (Committee Members only)
       to be held on Thursday, 13^th August 2009.
